Banihana

Ok, so a few years back I got a gift card for Banihana and haven't had a chance to use it. This weekend we will make a point to spend it.

We have never been to Banihana, how does it work? Is it worth doing the whole show thingy or can we just do sushi? How is their food? Enlighten me please.

Thanks.

Greg

FYI: your gift card may no longer be valid. many gift cards expire within a year.

Call first to verify.

I'd do the show; its a blast. Well worth the extra cash and the food is awesome too.

Thanks. The gift card lost about $20 of it's value, but still has funds on it.

I like the fried rice on the flat grill, so I'd go with the show. However, if you're just eating sushi, no point to sitting at the grill.

This.

In general, I've always found hibachi to be overrated. The food really isn't that good, compared to other Japanese fare. If you're going for the entertainment aspect, that's cool but it can be hit or miss depending on the chef you get. And after 2-3 sittings, you've seen it all.

If you've never really done it, then give it a go. But after a few times, it becomes mundane.

Benihana is not the best hibachi grill. But I would take advantage of it if I had a gift card.
