What to do this weekend?????

I have my kids this weekend and now that alot of outdoor stuff is dwindling away I'm wondering what to do this weekend. Sunday late afternoon we have a rollersakte party to go to but besides that nothin.

Thinking of going hiking/nature walk on Saturday at Starve Rock. I haven't walked around there in about 20 years so I am guessing things might have changed since then. Can you still keep yourself busy for the afternoon walking the trails out there???

Weather's supposed to be mediocre. Hit up one of the museums downtown?

Have them clean your house? Yard work? Raking leaves? Cleaning gutters? ...all quality together activities. LMAO

Seriously tough, +1 to Andy's suggestion.

Paintballing. Don't know how old your kids are, but it is perfect weather for smaller people/women/guys who have ball which have not dropped. You can layer up for the cold and not receive welts from overpowered paintball guns.

its gonna be slick out there bro with all this rain, all those wood steps and the normal dirt walking trails. took the kids there a month ago.

best to stay indoors.

i got no advise since i dont know what your kids are into but i know brookfield zoo wasnt worth going to last weekend. they had the whole lions and tigers exhibit closed

I've spent a day out at starved rock and definitely didn't get to see everything. Depending on their age, maybe get them some sort of book to help them identify leaves/trees and/or birds?? Bring with extra paper and crayons to get their own pictures of unique leaves etc? (leaf under paper, use crayon to get image...no friggin clue what that's callled lol)

If it's not too cold, lazy canoe rides down down there are a blast. Went to a place called Ayers Landing Canoe Rental in Wedron IL a few months ago. There's actually a bald eagle nest right off the river halfway through that canoe ride, pretty cool to see. BTW! If you do decide to do that...Don't go too close to the birds' nests that are on a section of cliff wall, you will be attacked. Little Birds with their little bird syndrome...all angry and shit all the time! assholes.

Starved rock is still fun in the winter! Not as many trails to walk, but definitely worth the sight!

We're bringing the two eldest boys (16 and almost 13) to the Chris Botti concert tomorrow night ... gonna do fogo de chao for dinner then on Sunday breakfast at Max & Benny's and maybe hit a museum. I heard that the Muppets will be at Science & Industry.

Geocaching bro. At Starved Rock, or in the city, there are caches everywhere. All ya need is a cheapo GPS, or a smartphone (which I'm sure you got lol). Kids love treasure hunting, I'd know, I never grew up!

little red school house. It's a beautiful walk, and the new school house is really cool.

And then plush horse or Andy's after.
