Flat Screen scouting....

So I'm potentially in the market to purchase a fairly decent quality 32" flat screen LCD for a christmas gift.....

Anybody seen any smokin deals on anything of the sort? I REALLY want to keep it below 400, would like for the TV to have 2-3 HDMI ports, 720p 60hz refresh is fine.

I'll check out the Vizio's then.... You a fan?

Keep in mind, I've been lining things up for online pricing (OMG I KNOW I SAID IT! ) with NO tax on purchase and free shipping, which is a HUGE incentive on a purchase of a few hundred or more.

This model "Samsung LN32C450 32-Inch" has peeked my interest.

it's a 32" lcd, at that size the vizio makes a competitive product.

Samsung is good stuff. However, I would go to Costco, ABT or BB and pay the $30 in tax for the convenience of having a local place to return it to if shit goes wrong with it. Just my two cents.

Actually yea even after the tax, the vizio 32" not only has 4 HDMI but is still less then 400!

The samsung I posted above I found for 444 which isn't bad and I am a fan of samsung stuff myself seeing as thats what my flat screen and BR player both are, but I'm still trying to remain cost conscious. But I also don't wanna go with something of sublevel quality... So Vizio just may be a good route to go here.

BTW, is costco like the new owner of Tiger direct or something? The website looks IDENTICAL!

1080p is pretty much useless at that size. 720 should lower the cost and, again, you won't be able to tell the difference side by side.

Yea I'm not worried about that. 720p is fine

The only time my 1080p looks crazy good, is when I'm watching bluray or HD sports AND It's also on my 46"

This unit is to upgrade/replace a 19" 10 year old tube!

Check the specs against the Samsungs and the Visio. I am pretty sure the Samsung is better for same or lower price and Visio probably too.

If you find something you're interested, hop over to www.avsforums.com and do a search on the model number. You should find TONS of feedback and information there, to tell you whether you're buying a lemon or not.

Samsung is highest quality TV with best picture. LG is most popular. Hotels use LG 68% of the time. They are on a budget. Visio uses LG glass.

I have a 32" visio. $300 bucks at tiger aka CompUSA. Afterall, its only a 32" .

Not true.

"includes 10 used-car dealers or auto repair shops, 11 liquor stores and bars--two of which advertise lingerie fashion shows and a third billed as a "gentlemen's club"--three cut-rate motels and one trailer park. The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."
