Do Apple products ever go on sale?

I am looking to get my sister an ipod nano for Christmas and do not know if I should just pick one up or is it worth holding off a bit.

Thanks.

Buy refurbished from the Apple online store, or go to eBay.

Apple doesn't really have "sales" although they have some great promotions.

Their refurbished products are as good as new.

Avoid eBay for refurbs; check apple.com

Thanks for the suggestions. If buying for myself, I would consider a refurb, but as a gift, I'll stick with new.

When and how often do these promotions come out?

iPods barely go on sale, maybe twice a year as give-aways or to clear inventory to make room for new models.

However, there are always promos for big ticket items (macs and macbooks).

Microcenter is selling 13" macbook pros for $1,000 (retail $1.3k).

Thanks for the info. I'll probably just pick one up over the weekend.

Actually, check out the Apple store on Black Friday since its right around the corner. Won't be much of a discount though. You'll probably save $20-30 but will have to stand in a line.

Thanks, we'll see what the plan is for the Friday. Typically we avoid any retail establishment like the plague on Black Friday.
