I heard that Banzai recently went out of business and that the owners are trying to set up shop in St. Charles. Does anyone have more information regarding this?

The Banzai operation is no longer run by the Chicago Cycle Center / Cycle King people?

I'm not local to the Chicago area, but I've purchased from both of these dealers.

They will not answer my phone calls, emails, or certified letters. Their voicemail is still working. I received this email from a rider in the area earlier this morning:

True about Jerry working at Chicago HD, but not sure if he is or was a "partner". The Bonzai website looks newer then the last time I looked at it.

Good Luck.

I just got the scoop on this a few days ago.

Jerry Focus (King Jerry) was the original owner of CCC with Jason, who was the money man behind their deals, when they were on Western Ave. Jerry had a 3 year deal with CCC after it was sold to Giant. After the 3 year deal was up Jerry wasn't retained....not sure when this was but was about 3 years ago.

Jerry and Jason bought Banzai. Jerry and Jason have done business together for several years in the motorcycle industry.

Apparently there was a falling out between Jerry and Jason and Jason had to buy Jerry out of Banzai. Jerry works for some Harley dealer now. Jason got tired of pouring money into Banzai and closed it....when the industry is of 60-70% that doesn't take long.

Supposedly, Jason is just going to sell bikes out of Chicago Exotic Cars in St. Charles....which is located on North Ave.

That's the scoop peeps.

Thanks for the update Kevin, Kinda sad to see them go, Good memorys of shooting the asshats at banzai down......Im sure smartdrug can tell you all about that.

I thought id never say this but if banzai closed shop....Good, sad to see a dealer go down but if any dealer had to go it was banzai. Banzai made CCC look like angels

Yes, and it still shows a lot of unsold inventory. Makes me wonder if they keep a "don't answer" list of numbers beside every phone...

Does Jason own this establishment as well? Is it run with the same dedication to customer satisfaction as Chicago Cycle Center and Banzai Motorsports?

I found a Chicago Motors Cars on North Avenue (forum won't let me post links), but no mention of Jason Haubner on their site. However, there is a Chicago Toy Store that also sells exotic cars that lists Jason as its president.

Chicago Motor Cars' powersports inventory looks like Banzai's old stuff.

I live down the street from Chicago motor cars, over in west chicago they have a nice selection of toys there, wouldnt buy a bike there thought if there affiliated with Banzai.

Do your self a favor if you buy another...i know a nice dealer down 64 just past 290 named chicago performance, check him out good people and good selection.

You can thank me next season ken when i need new gear

I contacted Mr. Haubner through his new place of employment and he actually replied with this:

I assume "Bob" is Bob Stankowicz, the Internet Manager from Banzai Motorsports and now listed as the contact for the Chicago Toy Store.

Unfortunately, it's been a month and they are once again ignoring my requests. Banzai promised a partial reimbursement for a lemon bike they sold me in August of 2010, which of course never arrived.

You guys already know this, but deal with these people at your own risk. Jason is now listed as the president of the Chicago Toy Store (4507 Ray Street, Crystal Lake, IL 60012) and I believe he heads the powersports division of Chicago Motor Cars (27W261 North Avenue, West Chicago, IL 60185).

Depending on the situation/circumstances you can make a claim on their dealer bond if its still in force/was in force during the time of the incident/sale. IL requires a 20k bond, and you'd start by talking with the secretary of state dealer licensing department. Better/faster way than working with a doush who's putting you off as long as he can till one day it turns into "that was too long ago sorry".

Thank you. I forwarded an account of what happened to the Secretary of State, though I couldn't find contact information for that particular department on its website. Hopefully it will wind up in the right hands.

I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (finally), though I doubt anything will come of it. Banzai has since dissolved and they were operating with an F rating before they even closed.
