My mother in law has the irobot one and loves it. They've had it for about 4 years.

I assumed if they worked well, everyone would have it. The guy I know who has em is a little eccentric and just likes the fact they are autonomous. Have no idea if they work.

I considered one for the same reason, but my dog's fur is pretty long and it loves to clog up the dyson, so I could only imagine what it would do to a roomba.

We have had one for a few years. If you have a single level floor, they work great. We have a step down to our living room, and we have to set a "gate" to keep it from having problems. For tile or hardwood floors it is excellent.

Carpet, well it vacuums, but I prefer to use it in the more open areas with hard surfaces. Or at least very short carpet.

We have hardwood floors too, but have a few Oriental rugs thrown in here and there. It got stuck sometimes on the rugs because they were pretty tall, plus it didn't clean that well for the most part. Plus it's loud as hell, so it drove me nuts.

Weve got a Irobot and my wife uses it all the time, its nice we turn it on at night before we go to bed and come down and the floor is cleaned, one less chore to do the next day! No issues after a year so far.

Dog fur will clog it up. You will spend a lot of time picking it out of the brushes. Battery life is eh. Don't do it.

There is nothing firm, nothing balanced, nothing durable in all the universe. Nothing remains in its original state, each day, each hour, each moment, there is change. Change is the essence of life. Embrace change as you do life. To fight change is to live in the past.

We've had one for about a year. Kids love to turn it on and run so it is used about once a week now compared to nightly before.

It works great as long as you empty it daily as we have alot of black lab hair. You need to clean the roller as well which takes another minute or two.

Man you can't even work your bicycle computer. Someone had to be there because it got stuck a lot on our rugs, so it would either fugg the floor up or burn up and cause a fire killing millions. Not a pretty sight.

I'm with you on that. And, it doesn't help that I've got dark hardwood floors, and a white dog that sheds like its going out of style.
