I'm not sure I liked the movie enough to buy it. It was good, but it is what it is. I'm not sure there's more I could find in it by watching it again.

Good movie. I watched on the plane from SanDiego to Atlanta a couple weeks ago. I want to see it again.

Those are great!

On topic I thought the movie was decent. Apparently there's a lot more going on than I caught. After reading this I went back and watched it again trying to focus on some of the things they talk about.

This is pretty cool as well

Ok, so I watched Inception again last night and I noticed somethings that kind of make me think the story goes in a different direction than what has been posted out there.

1) Cobb hooks himself to the dream machine solo a few times in the movie. What happens when someone hooks up to the dream machine solo? They create their own dream and bring themselves into it. Cobb created his dream world (the one with the elevator) with memories. Cobb told Araidne never to create worlds from memories because then you will not be able to tell reality from a dream. Based on what he told Ariadne, that means Cobb cannot tell reality from a dream.

2) The dream machine requires physical/chemical/real world reactions in the body to work. So that means anything deeper than one level, the dream machine will not actually work, because you are in a dream. Similar to the fact that if you are stabbed or shot in a dream, yes you “die” but you do not wake up bleeding through a hole in your body. That means that there is only one level and everything else is just a more involved one level dream.

3) The grandfather tells Cobb to come back to reality.

So I think Cobb suffers from the same thing that Mal suffered from – thinking that reality is a dream. The only difference and the point of the whole movie is that Cobb was able to use the concept of inception to create a story/a dream where he could resolve the issue to where he could accept reality for what it really was. Cobb used the concept of inception to fix the problem with inception.

I think Cobb could go see his children the whole time, but it was the inception (the same thing that happened to Mal) that made him think that he couldn’t. So in effect everyone in reality had to treat Cobb as though he were mentally ill and accommodate his behavior. I think Cobb hired Siato to help create the story/the dream and help Cobb use inception to fix the problem with inception.

So, the biggest question I have is how does the dream machine work when you are already in a dream? If you are in a dream, the dream machine is not real. It’s a dream. So how do you get to level 2, 3, etc?

The real question is whether or not the top was about to topple or keep spinning. It's open ended for a reason.

So he spent 50 years in a limbo with Mal, but got out of it by simply dying on the train tracks... so than it's not much of a limbo than, is it?

Another issue with limbo is the fact that they were young when they put their heads on the tracks. If they spent 50 years down there, they should have been old.

To add to this, if you watch the head on tracks scene, you will see that instead of the "we'll be together" that is said previously in the movie, Mal actually says "you'll be together". So who was trying to convince who to put their head on the tracks?
