How do you smash these chips? Never felt it was necessary to join the wave your card in front of some sensor club either.

Just microwave the card for 10-15 seconds. That should blow out the chip. Don't overdo it, or the card will catch fire and melt.

shine a bright light thru it, look for the antenna traces leading back to an opaque circular shaped object

i use a small phillips screw driver place the card on a hard surface and whack the handle of the screwdriver to drive the tip of the screw driver into the chip thus destroying it

i dont recommend the microwave since the mag strip can be ruined
