Christmas Gifts for...

Christmas Gifts for your mail carrier, garbage men, maid, landscaper, etc:

Do you give any? Cash or other? How much?

We usually give the mail carrier $50 cash, don't remember how much we gave the cleaning ladies, but they have been let go so will not be an issue. Never gave to the garbage guys. Just curious what everyone else does.

Here's an interesting question though, when was the last time you caught a tip for doing your job adequately?

Every year when I prepare the envelope I think of this, same when i have an appliance or furniture delivered.

I guess the main reason I do this, is b/c I want to ensure continued good service. Another reason for me asking this, as I have considered giving to the trash guys too, but I'm never home when they come by, plus there is the regular trash guys, the recycling guys and the landscape waste guys. Too fricking many and I do not know if they are the same from week to week.

Mailman will leave me a note on my is I park within 30 yards of my mailbox that states they need 30 yards to enter, and 30 yards to exit the curb, rinse and repeat. When I receive that note, I don't get any mail. To my calculations, that mean nobody can park on the street if they want mail. Tip for them? I won't bust open any stink bombs inside of the mailbox which will cause extreme irritability of their nasal cavaties.

Garbage men told me they couldn't take a 6 foot mirror in the garbage - everything can't be larger than 3 feet. What? Are you fuckin scared of 7 years bad luck? it'll shatter into a billion pieces when they toss it in the truck no matter how large it starts off as. Tip for them? Lick my balls.

Maid? I'll buy myself an extra beer next time I'm at the bar for being able to clean up my own shit.

I usually tip my bartenders pretty well for putting up with my bitter ass. Bah humbug!

screw that lazy as mail man bastard. He has no issues slacking off at his job all year. He never puts my mail in my mail box, and the old folks upstairs just throw out shit if it aint for them. Just got a notice from the illinois tollway that i owe them 104 for 5 missed tolls. Turns out my license plate on the bike was somehow entered incorrectly into my ipass account. No big deal got that changed and paid the 4 dollars in tolls. The also told me that they had sent me letters for over 500 dollars in missed tolls and fines over 3 months ago and my bike plate is susspened. If i wanted to pay 46 dollars they would clear all them but it went to judgment already so there was no way i could have a hearing. I could write a letter to the tollway commision but they will probally just deny my claims cause they are the one that offered me the 46 dollar buy out. So for chistmas im going to ice down my front pourch and hope that ghetto ass mailman breaks his shit running down the stairs. Im moving after the first of the year anyways.

always tip your bartenders and servers well, until when they bring the fresh round, they try to take away your beer bottle with two sipps left. Then screw them.

Im with you on the mail man - i wasnt able to clean the snow off of my steps (was working like mad) for two days - He walked all the way up to leave a prepared note saying he couldn't walk through the snow. Then I see his foot prints from my neighbors yard to mine and through mine to the next house. Fuck his lazy ass - made a 4 foot pile blocking is walk way and used my care to block the rest

As a business owner, having a cool charlie brown guy is priceless. If they have a good attitude and already know where to drop shit off or pick shit up and don't bitch about special requests then that makes your life a ton easier especially if you're busy posting on the forum instead of working on bikes

I never gave the UPS guy anything until last year when I had a new guy who actually did me some favors and helped me out with stuff. The other ones were lazy shitbags and made things pretty difficult for me. Garbage guys complain about this or that, miss picking it up, etc., and the mail douche I want to stab in the neck for all the whining they do about something as simple as delivering mail. Unbelievable.

About 5 days a week. everyhour i work :P then again i do work at starbucks lol.

I think the mail people are hopefully appreciative for what ever they get seeing as they usually get paid a half decent amount

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

20 bucks for both reasons. somethin somethin for the holidays and also because im paranoid they will screw something up on purpose if i dont though generally in all fairness they do a pretty good job in my case.

Fuck those public services, they dont do their job right if they even do it at all here in the city.
I give the guys in the mailroom at work $30 to D&D since I ship all my packages to work. They seem to like it and in turn deliver my packages to my cube.

at least with usps though i think its pretty amazing i can pretty much give someone 50 cents and a piece of mail and in almost every situation that piece of mail ends up in the right place anywhere in the country in a couple days.
