Lesson's of 2010. What did you learn?

I think I started a thread like this last year...so figure we'll get one going for this year.

What did you learn in 2010? What surprised you, what didn't you know before, what life lesson was learned, etc.

I'm going to have to report back on this. After a few minutes of thinking about it, I don't know what I learned!

That this country is going to shit if we continue to only provide services like insurance. Insurance provides nothing to the human population and is counterproductive to our economy. I read a great article about the decline of this country if we continue on this trend, I think it was in a history book in school. Basically, it said that once upon a time this was a country that provided goods and products that could be sold and now we have nothing but government and insurance, and that a country like ours can not survive on the servce industry. We're gonna need something else to sustain life.

I learned that street fast and track fast are separated by insanity and obsession. That you can be scared, happy, at peace, and humbled all in the same corner.

I learned that improving myself to help the company, does not help myself. Challenging and improving skills I wanted to learn was much more rewarding. Fuck Lean Six Sigma training, I'm going to get my damn Pilots License first.

That the legal system favors the rich, and the majority of attorneys will do anything for a big payday, no matter who they screw over and no matter how unethical they have to be.

Common knowledge, sure, but I gots to learn it first hand in 2010.

That lead to: A great family means everything, a bad family member can make you wish they were dead.

Cheers 2011!

Working out and losing weight does wonders for track riding.

Highsiding at the track because you are lighter and have more energy / stamina from working out sucks!

Crutches at 34 years old are not as fun as I remembered as a kid.
