Capt. Owen Honors and his video

He made these videos a couple years ago when he was second in command aboard the USS Enterprise. His commanding officers knew about the video as well. Why is he just now being investigated?

Because the media has become little more than a more professional version of TMZ. Gossip and shock videos rule. ...on a side note, why would anyone in a position of leadership do such a thing? You have to know it would come out at some point. In the grand scheme of things who really cares, but for this guy it's gonna be trouble.

In one of his videos he even says that the capt should not be held accountable in a judicial setting so he obviously knew that this could come back to bite him in the ass someday. I think he just got sick and tired of all the politically correct bullshit that is pussifying the nation lately. I agree that being in his position that he shouldn't have actually appeared in the movies himself. Instead he should have just looked the other way if a few clowns decided to make the movies and distribute them on board.

Yeah I'm with ya...it's kind of akin to the locker rooms in sports now being considered fair game to the public by the media that covers them. This sort of thing has always gone and will continue to, it's just the spread of information and video is so easy today. I don't care what it is, someone somewhere is offended.

I dunno, maybe he was trying to boost moral for all those poor saps cooped up on that ship for weeks at a time - you know they were all laughing their asses off when he played the movies...................I really dont see the problem with it.

If they are going to come down on anyone in the military making gay jokes, we'd run out of soldiers. It's obviously a joke, sad that he will lose his position for it.

OH for fuck's sake. Can't anyone have fun anymore? I wish the media would just stop trying to scandalize everything.

This keeps up and I'll have to seriously consider moving to Amsterdam.

His videos contained a lot of homosexual slander so maybe it was a way for the homosexual military personnel to boot him as punctuation to Obama's don't ask don't tell repeal?

This has a political, not sexual smell to it. The content is the lever, not the cause IMO.

+1 This. It was a joke, and probably a long standing tradition on the ship. You can tell a little of that by the intro "As usual, the captain and the Admiral". That tells me they did this before.... probably a bunch of times.
