Very cool - and hopefully the infusion of capital will spur some more R&D (and lower prices)

Infusion of capital? From where? California is almost as broke as Illinios.

What will they be able to chase down in a pursuit? An old ford Fiesta? ...or maybe the Chevy Volt??

Infusion of capital for Zero. I didn't read that they were donating a fleet of bikes to this dept. As for the pursuit ability - these would work just as well as the quads that the CPD is using now.

Stop killing my dream to get an affordable silent dirtbike that I can ride at Palos (it's the only way I'm going to keep up with the members here!)

Sure. You need to be able to Blues Brothers your ass through downtown (faster than 67mph) and travel further than 50 miles in order to get to escape.

Not impossible - but not probable.

It says they are going to use them to "patrol the streets." You can't do much patrolling with a 50 mile range.

If you have a neighborhood beat in Chicago you might be responsible for up to 3 miles at any given time. I see the quads in my neighborhood every day. How far do you suppose they go at a stretch?

Work with me people!

I tried to get the Zero rep to bring two bikes to Winks for the last Test and Tune. He gave me all sorts of excuses last minute, said he'd show up, then didn't.

I hope the rest of the company is run better than that.

No way the fat a$$ cops will use them in Chicago. That would mean they would need to know how to ride a motorcycle and they are too dumb and fat to do that. They would rather eat a dounut and sip coffee while patroling there dumb fatasses around.

Did I say they where dumb and fat???
