Tahoe is super close and at the very least you have to drive around the lake and checkout all the vistas. This could take you as little time as a hour or it could take you all day if you check everything out along the way. I really enjoy Tahoe and a drive around the lake is something I do everytime I go.

You better have 4 wheel drive if you go up to Tahoe this time of year. There are often 4 wheel and / or chain restrictions several times a day there this time of year. That being said, Go, it's awesome.

There is a chain called the "The Chart House" in Stateline NV. It's good but not great. www.chart-house.com
