Do we need additional number plates from County

I live in cook county, I called in the revenue office if I would require any additonal sticker (as in case of cars). They said me to purchase a Cook county license plate.

I am in delimma now, how can one install two number plates.
-One which i got from DMV when I got the bike registered to my name.
-Second for the cook county.

I would appreciate any help in this regard.

Even I don't have any idea about the looks of the plate. But here is a line from
http://www.cookcountygov.com/portal/...ehicle_sticker

'If you live in unincorporated Cook County and own a vehicle, you are required to purchase a Cook County Vehicle License; a vehicle sticker for cars and trucks or vehicle plate for motorcycles and trailers.'

These plates are different from the one which I got from DMV is what I got to know when I called the Cook County Department of Revenue.

unincorporated is the big ticket right there, chances are you live in an incorporated portion of cook county and thusly you would not be subject to this sticker thing, but you would be on the hook for your towns sticker

it looks like a medallion, a bit larger than a casino chip. Most people just use the same bolts/bolt holes you use for your state plate and keep it mounted on the side.

And funny part is that I need to renew it again on 1st July though they will charge me for the whole year right now instead of 2 months.

actually, that part makes sense. some people ride most of the year and only put away the sportbike for sub-30 degree temps or slick ice. I even saw a few on scooters during the winter. crazies!

do you live in an unincorporated area?

Ie:
septic system
your water comes from a well on your property
primary police coverage is cook county sherrif
no sidewalks

I live in a rented apartment. Most of my friends who live here said me to get a county sticker since they have it on their cars, thats when I called Cook County Department of Revenue. Btw I will confirm from the rental office today about it.

I work for a township (unincorporated cook county) and we do have side walks sewers and running water.

Decent what township do you live in? Most code officers would not know you need a sticker for your bike. Also if you do not park on the street you Wong get a ticket.

I'm with you. I live in Markham which is listed but if they think they're getting another dime out me crack is growing in the forest preserve. And we have running water, sewers, sidewalks and more than one stoplight.

Wait a minute... I'm thinking City of Chicago sticker/MC plate tags. And I just noticed that you don't live in Chicago.

Do you mean a village registration sticker? Like this?
http://www.vniles.com/Content/templates/?a=52

Because then it seems like it would be one or the other; if you're in an incorporated area, you pay the village sticker. If you're unincorporated, you pay the county.

good god, I'm glad I have a garage...

I believe the rules apply to garaged vehicle also. Atleast in the one you attached says so.

yeah, but no one has ever bothered trying to get into my garage to enforce a city sticker violation. the only reason I bought one is to get a visitor pass for someone spending the night, and *that's* only because my garage doesn't hold two cars and a bike. otherwise I would've happily ignored that particular village ordinance with no one the wiser.
