I ask usually to run it once more. The only time I've had mine declined is when the strip starts going bad.

If it doesn't work I hand them a wad of $100s and tell them to keep the change.

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Declined - no

error reading it - yes

However i did have my bank's servers crash once so my debit card was coming up declined for like 2 days until they fixed it. That was like 7 years ago though so hopefully they've made that far less likely to happen.

Yes I ask to run it again. Like Chills said, the only time I've had problems is when the strip is going bad. I don't even have any credit cards anyways, just debit so I know if I'm trying to spend the money it is actually in there.

Yes run it again...interesting story... ive had it happen where the card was declined because I bought something online and BOA say it as unusual and froze the entire account. But do as chills said, I have my homies makes it rain as I make a dramatic exit.

You know, I feel bad for the dude throwing the money: he doesn't have enough to buy his own shirt.

He should grab one of those bills and hit up Wal-Mart.

Have you seen me on TV? I'm almost always wearing a scarf.

i have a debit card attached to my paypal account and when i'm trying to empty the account with normal everyday purchases, i always lose track of how close to a zero blanace i am. at that point, i usually hand it to the cashier and say something along the lines of, "here, see if this one even works". it's like a fun little game.

If my card was declined I would ask to run it again as I would know that there must be an error. At the same time I would be pulling out my phone and loging into by bank account. Twenty years ago I would have written a check to give myself a couple days before I needed to have the funds available.

If it's declined, it's because my accounts were frozen because of a possible theft risk (meaning I lost my wallet and had to call and cancel the cards, then found the wallet again and forgot which cards I cancelled.) or I was traveling and the CC fraud departments caught an excess of foreign activity.

No point to running a debit card again.
