Bumming gas?

No Shit, yesterday while filling up my bike I had some guy who looked like a crackhead come up to me. Wife beater shirt, bad homemade tats and about 17 teeth in his head. Dude had a 1 gallon red plastic gas can in hand. Asks if I could spare $1 worth of gas. After filling my bike I gave him about a 1/2 gallon since $1 worth isn't much. Pretty smart on his part not to ask for $ but gas, imagine like me people would give more than a bucks worth.
Strange, only in America do people who are broke own cars, but they cannot afford to fill them up. He had a beat up Crown victoria. Imagine he got about 12 blocks with that gas.

If they are polite and I can buy them a "good". I will. If they are asking for just cash, fuck off.

now your proabably an accessory for an arson job!

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

I was out in Newport Va. a while back and I put my card in the slot on the pump and this mother fucking asshole prick on the other side of the pump grabs my gas nozzle and runs to the other side to start pumping gas in his car. So I hit cancel, shove the dude into his car and knock the nozzle out of his hand. I had the guy by his throat and the gas station attendent comes out and I'm yelling for him to call the cops. We waited around for a little bit for the cops while this scum bag is just playing dumn like it's something normal he does everyday. I was in a hurry to catch a flight so I just said fuck it and left. But man oh man, it took me 5 hours to calm down from that. I couldn't believe that guy tried to pull that shit with me. Unbeleivable.

Seen more and more cars on the side of the road and people walking back with gas cans. What do you do when you have to get to work, have no money, CC is maxed out and you're outta gas.

At least some of these people are trying.

Oldest scam in the book, there's a dude who's always at the Roselle and Golf mobil, rides his bike over and asks "hey Honda, can you spare a little gas". Sorry dude, not my money and not worth my job. Goes to the next guy, gets him to buy him 2 gallons. I leave, come back and here he comes again, on his bike with his gas can. At this time gas wasn't even in the $3.00+ region but he had money for cigarettes!

Don't fall for it, it's a scam for the cheap asses can support their drug/alcohol/nicotine habits.

Jeremy

When I was visiting my mom in California I saw the same thing at every gas station. Dude in a cadillac or similiar car would be going around asking for money or for people to buy them gas. These people hung around until they got a full tank. They would always say that they just ran out of gas and needed to make it to such and such place.
Sad part is there would be multiple people at the same gas staion with the same excuse.

Eh, I used to do 14. I'll be impressed when you tell me that it's 40 miles one way. I wished more people took their bikes, then maybe the roadways would be more bike friendly with less automobile traffic and more people lobbying to get those potholes on the side fixed.
