Pho!!

Had some awesome Pho in Seattle today. Well done Brisket along with some "fat" brisket. Loved it. MSG aside I could eat that shit everyday. Already gearing up for some in Chicago. Where's the place to go?

personally, i don't like any of the pho restaurants in Chicago. my mom can make it ten times better than what the restaurants can offer. but there are a few pho restaurants in uptown (argyle & broadway). otherwise cali has some good pho restaurants if you ever go there.

I used to go to a spot on Broadway just south of Argyle on the East side of the street that was good. That's some cold weather food IMHO though.

I've had bad service there before but it is BYOB with a liquor store next door. The Pho wasn't bad, a little greasy and I don't think they have anything aside from "Everything" pho, tendons, tripe, fatty brisket, etc. Some of that shit I can't stand.

FWIW, if you ever get a fancy Pho place, get it with filet or crunchy flank steak... delicious.

When we did the outing there, I was able to get chicken, and several people got beef with no problem. Dave got the mystery Pho, with blood cubes and eyeballs in his. LOL It was really some sort of blood sausage, and the "eyeballs" are still a mystery. Did they change their menu? They had several options when we were there.

they have a whole pho menu: http://vietnam-bistro.com/menulist2.html#pho

Don't go to that Vietnam Bistro joint. I went there again after the group trip and it got worse. I'd be surprised if they're still open. Pho Ha wins hands down in the Schaumburg region but the place is small and the service blows. I would've taken everyone to Pho Ha regardless of service because they're that much better but there wasn't enough space in that place. I could care less about alcohol because nobody drinks alcohol with their pho. That's usually done before eating pho. The only person that works there that is actually a genuinely nice person is Trish. There used to be another guy there with a mohawk that was a good guy too (i think he was the owner's son) but I haven't seen him for a long time.

Tank. Tank is NOT what it used to be. Shit is greasier than a triple cheeseburger and the broth is so dark you can't see what the fuck is in your soup. Try Le's or 777 if you're going to go to Argyle.
