man the IL DMV sucks.

So it was time for me to get a Florida drivers license. Looked up online found you can make an appointment and pre-fill out all needed forms online. So it filled everything out last night, appointment was today at 10:15.

Walked in, handed the guy all my paperwork that i needed to bring, and i filled out online. Walked over to the clerk, she double checked all the info then took my picture. Then to the cashier paid my $56, 5 mins later they handed my my new license.

that was the smoothest DMV trip ever! I was in and out in under 30mins and the new license is good till 2020!

man does Illinois have its head up its ass.

The New Jersey DMV kicks ass. Thanks to Chris Christie for privatizing it.

The only time I've had to wait is on a weekend morning, even then, it's not that bad. On a weekday, my times are very similar to these.

Yes, a non-resident permit.

I meant to ask whether you've exchanged it for a resident permit.

Some states WILL NOT honor a NON-resident permit but will honor a resident permit. Hence why it is in your best interests to get a resident permit.

i asked the locals. the permit is the same, you just have to let them know your change of address. there is no address on my permit, just my name.

ATF? dont think the Feds have anything to do with a State issued permit. plus here in Florida the permit is issued by the Dept of Agriculture.

My last trip to the Chicago South DMV was in and out in less than a minute for 2 plate renewals. I had paperwork and check ready.

Fail. Social Security Office doesn't give out State Welfare benefits. (and the Feds don't do welfare, the states do - even if it's with federal money).

o and i just found you can do the change of address on the Florida Department of Agriculture website.. booya.

from the site:

Quote:
Effective February 12, 2010, the Division of Licensing is no longer printing the licensee's residence address on the face of the Florida concealed weapon license. The law does not require you to obtain a revised license after a change of address. You can continue to carry your current license until it expires

You need to submit your SSN for the application process... unless you are a refugee filing under the refugee program.

I need to give my SSN to get a mortgage, too, but I don't get that at the Social Security office, either.

You 1) apply for SSN for your kid 2) take your green card and apply for SSN 3) apply for Senior or disability benefits (with your ssn)

+1 and you dont have to fill out any forms or go on the internet first or make an appointment!

Maybe you were confused when you went to get stuff done in Illinois?

You go to the SS office to start the process to get a SS card, so you can then (later) get on welfare.

Take a seat at the Aurora SS office someday and tell me all those people are there so they can all of a sudden go get a legit job.

Try WI's DMV. Our local office has variable hours. Some days they close at 4pm, some days at 6, some at 5.
