unused medications

I have several inhalers that Abi tried and didn't get any better from. She used them with an areo chamber and never put her mouth on them. Is there a place I can donate them to that will use them for kids without insurance? They are very expensive medications, and I hate to just throw them in the trash. I have at least 3, maybe more available.

toss them. I believe it's illegal to reuse things of that nature. We tried something similar and it all got tossed.

Yup, throw them in the trash. I had meds that I spent hundreds of dollars on and didn't use them. I tried to find somewhere to donate to, but I guess its a liability if they take them.

Since they are just asthma meds I don't think anyone would want them as a recreational drug. I guess I was just thinking about Dr. Eric going to third world countries and maybe there are groups that could use them? I wasn't looking to give them to a sick person, but to a doctor that works in a clinic or something.

Asthma inhalers = speedy high... erm... so I've heard. I doubt there will be any where that would accept them as donations. Best bet would be to take them to a pharmacy for proper disposal.

Google search "how to donate unused medications" yielded many hits. Here's the first that seemed promising.

Not a rescue inhaler, but steroids to help her prevent attacks.

Joliet PD takes them for you and disposes of them free of charge. you don't want to dump them in the toilet or trash. and the pharmacies are no longer permitted to take them thanks to the DEA.

If need be bring them to me at ACC and I'll drop them for you.

You mean thanks to the pharmacies reselling old and expired prescription drugs that were brought in by people.
