I saw this on Autoblog last week. Sure the rider shouldn't be passing in a double yellow but that hardly warrants the attempted manslaughter by the cager. And then he proceeds to use up the entire road cashing the biker, all with with an ATV strapped in the bed of the truck at unsafe speeds. He also nearly clips a random, oncoming rider as well.

This video pisses me off. People just don't think of the consequences. This road rage could have resulted on death.
He should have been charged with attempted manslaughter.

He was actually. Also DUI, and a few other gems. He's facing 23yrs. The riders DY crossing was deemed to be a righteous pass since the pickup was going well under the speed limit. No tickets issued. Looks like justice will be done this time.

No, but with video evidence, I'm guessing a case would pretty much be a slam dunk. I'd wager he'll do some time.

well as far as i've read, the cops didnt give any tickets to the rider who crossed the DY. even though yes it was illegal, the cops have said they dont care about that and the driver of the truck is supposedly in for alot of stuff.

you know, i shared this video on FB and have been surprised by some of the responses by friends of mine. Guys who i know break the law on a regular basis when it comes to speed limits and lane usage, apparently since the rider crossed the double yellow to pass a vehicle moving much slower that made it okay for the driver of the truck to try and remove him from this world. My family is from MI, you get stuck behind a farm truck or farm equipment you pass then as soon as it's safe and clear regardless of the color of the line down the middle of the road, you don't sit there and do 10mph in a 55.

Just amazes me about some peopls mentality. Truck driver goes from putting down the road to flying when the bike passes him. Thank god the dude can actually ride if that was a newbie the manslaughter charge would of been changed to murder

Everyone needs a healthy way to relax, mine Church, and two wheels, a stretch of winding road, and a pipe loud enough to give me headaches and make squirrels explode. (Fixed curtousey of PWRMAD)

Nothing is impossible the second we say ill try your already admiting you can be defeated, and the second you say i cant or its to hard youve already failed.

imagine if he was on a larger/less nimble bike, my bike has plenty of power but it's at least 2x the width of a regular rocket with the bags on it about 300lbs heavier than your average 600-750. There was no room to spare when that truck tried to take him out. Honestly it was a little sickening to even watch.

never understood why people have bugs up their asses for being passed on a 2 lane road.

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"
