Fuck me

I broke the air valve on one of my forks. 1981 Suzuki GS650. I'm 4 hours away from home. Anybody know if that part is easily obtainable?

Fuck it...what's the air for anyway? I'll just find a way to plug it and let the air pressure out of the other too. Talked to a small engine repair guy, and he called his buddy. Told me his buddy probably has one.

It'll be nice to get the replacement, but what is the air for anyway? Modern shocks only have a valve to release any air pressure, if they have one at all. They only had 10psi in them, and felt fine to me. I don't think 0 psi is gonna make much of a difference until i can get a new one.

Just ride it. If the valve is that messed up, worst case a little oil comes out on bump or hard braking.

I'm just gonna find a way to plug it. I filled the broken valve with solder and it seems to be fine. I'll leave that in there and try to get the right kinda valve. If i don't, whatever. It's an old ass bike that i paid next to nothing for....what the hell do i care.

I'll have to find some time to come to a bike night. I'll make sure i park really close to the shiniest bike in the lot.
