Ugh, got stuck in it but luckily I had a phone with google maps on it to take neighborhood streets past most of the major intersections.

No electricity in Libertyville. Yesterday ComEd estimated restoration by 4:40 Monday, at 5pm they changed to 4:30 Tuesday, at 6 this morning, they now say 4:40 Wednesday.

It would be nice for them to not throw shit against the wall.

And my 88 yo mother is sitting in Glencoe w/o power, they are estimating Thursday for her.

And you can't get a hotel room, they are all over booked.

I tried to tell my spouse that sex was a good alternative for TV, but that idea didn't fly either.

Shaving in the dark is a joy.

+1 ComEd did the same thing for us. If they don't know then just say right off the bat "we have no fucking clue" instead of offering false hope and messing up people's attempts to plan for alternatives.

Ciao,
Lupi
Rode up to fox lake WI today and took rt 12. Where 290 ends and becomes lake cook was completely stopped. Lane splitting ftw. It was backed up more than a mile from rt 12.

Also did some lane splitting on 83 yesterday. Huge traffic jam at one of the lights. Got screamed at a few times. Their just mad they're sitting in traffic and i'm not

Funny as I has the same ETA now. I think they finally realized they have no clue when all the outages will be restored so they are just tossing out a WAG. Some friends throughout the NW burbs are back online today, but no idea about my neighborhood. Funny thing was AT&T service was out since yesterday and Verizon stopped working this morning.

Yep.

That's set for each outage individually. Last I looked, there are over 2,400 outages listed. Nobody's got the job to filter through and clean them all up, and nobody would be able to give any better estimate anyway until someone's actually on the way out to do the work. So they just get the computer to put some bogus number out there until someone actually has an idea.

Watch for that to get bumped to Saturday, soon.

Oh, and by the way, keep calling if you're still out, and get the computer to tell you what your outage status is. Lots of circuits have three or four things broken, and when the first one is fixed, they'll call them all done unless they hear otherwise. The computer used to do a callback automatically, but they got rid of it (for no good reason, apparently), so you'll need to keep up to date on it, or risk getting lost in the shuffle.

Hey andrew, should i just keep calling to get a status on my address or should i actually call and talk to a person? Im in a real small pocket of only about 10 houses with no power. So im sure were super low priority. I dont want our short block to get lost in the shuffle

Power was restored last night at 6:30PM in my neighborhood. Lost some of the food in the fridge, but looks like it was time to do some cleaning anyways (10 years old german mustard? I've only lived there for 6 years ROFL).
