Don't mix up the 'tabloid Amy Winehouse' with the super-talented singer. That girl could belt-out the tunes.

Saying she lacked talent was a poor choice of words. The problem was finding a time she was sober enough to actually use her natural talent, rather than stumbling and slurring her words. She wrote the songs then was too messed up to remember her own lyrics. The world will never know where her talents could have taken her due to her problems that she refused to work to overcome.

I can only think of one song of hers honestly. And I can only think of that because I googled her today. Abi asked who she was and what the 27 club was, so I did a youtube search and let Abi watch her Rehab video. Abi said it's a shame that such a creative person died so young. I love that at 10 she is able to see the positive in people still. She saw the tattoos, and unique hairstyle and clothes and automatically saw the artistic side of Winehouse. It is indeed sad that such a young woman ended her life too soon due to drug abuse, and lifestyle choices. While not a fan I feel for those that cared about her and are grieving today, tomorrow and for a long time to come. It's hard to lose someone you love, even harder to lose someone so young.

I wasn't a fan or follower but anyone and everyone could see this coming. What's sad is that celebs like her that become so self destructive are always surrounded by enablers.
It never seems that there is someone who wants to force the issue and put a stop to the destructive behavior or if there is the enablers make sure they disappear.
With all due respect, this should be a non story...at best it should be used as an example of the consequences of destructive behavior.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!
