Something you have to understand is sometimes people go through hard times. Maybe dude had lots of money before and lost their job and needed TEMPORARY help to feed his kids.
Now if they also pulled out wads of cash and bought alchohol I might be a little ticked. I know people are going to say "Then he should just sell his car", but it aint that easy and it could be temporary.
There are lots of people living off the government and taking advantage because they don't want to work but I don't think you should judge unless you actually know their situation.

It's easy, you lie. My neighbor has a link card, gets all sorts of govt benefits, and her husband makes easily 150k a year. The both drive high end foreign cars as well.

Here's the kicker, if I report them and my report is found to be unfounded, I get in trouble. So ya I'm not saying anything. They should be offering a reward for system cheats instead of threatening to punish the whistle blower, imagine how many they would be told about, in no time at all.

HDTony.... Damn glad to meet you!

I agree with the temporary thing, I know times are tight for me right now after my recent job loss, luckily I planned ahead and have some reserves. But man I could use some help.

That is fucked up.

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.

Some people shop for those that are unable to shop for themselves. Examples are shut in's, elderly, sick, etc.

Others buy the link card for half it's value so they can buy drugs and alcohol, then sell their plasma for food.

It's all on my FB.

Not Link card related, but imagine how this would cut down on frivolous law suits. Don't they already do this in the UK? People would really think twice about pretending they are hurt or trying to pull a law suit against their fellow man just to cash on on some BS claim if they really had to back it up things and risk losing something of found to be lairs.

Not to bash a certain group of people especially since my ancestors came over in the 30's. The Eastern Europeans are the absolute worst at abusing Link cards when they sure as hell have the financial means to not need one. There is a good Polish population in my area and a large number of them have the card, along with a BMW and Armani Exchange clothes. I think it all has to do with the mindset from back home. They came from a land of Communism and where you try to fuck the gov. before it fucks you. If the gov offers something you take advantage of it by fraud or any other method. These are the people that piss me off. The single mom or the person who recently lost their job don't, these are the people it is made for. But the person who is fine and just gets it by fraud because they know how to work the system are the pricks....and the ones who make taxes go up and cheat those who really need it.

Do they have a license to go with that car registration ?

My union hall donates time to build homes for Habitat for Humanity in Joliet.. I went there to finish up a few things. A house we finished a couple months before across the street had a Cad Escalade pull up and opened the garage to see a brand new Dodge Charger R/T with some really nice big rims. The 2 adults get out and 2 kids to open the back of the Escalade to see a box for a new Flat screen Tv along with maybe 10 bags of best buy and khols all over them. Here I am thinking im building homes for free for people who deserve them not people who work the system..

I think the gravy train may be running out of gas. For many people, the free ride is nearing an end...at the very least it won't be quite as easy as it has been. Hopefully at least.
