At Pearl Harbor Naval Base working

I'm out here for the 4th time this year doing electrical contract work. I do a lot of jobs on military bases and it just amazes the he'll out of me how active this place is all of the time. On the Hickam AFB side there are F22s, F15s, cargo and fuel jets constantly up and down. I was at the top of the dive tower today on the Pearl side looking down on the entire base and there are currently 6 Los Angeles class attack subs at port along with 6 or 7 destroyer battle ships.

This place is jumping guys. What's going on inthe world? Are we getting ready for something?

The Navy IS the proverbial "big stick" that Teddy Roosevelt so often talked about.

My niece is in the Navy and she is just as amazed at the amount of activity on each base. Even when the major ships are out to sea, the base is busy. She is stationed in Washington, and says that even her night watch is loaded with people and activity. I guess the military wants to get their moneys worth out of our enlisted men/women.

I don't ride, I cook!

That would be the "big stick" that he thought all non-white countries, none of whom were capable of self-government, should be civilized with for their own benefit. It was, according to him, their destiny and his right. He also was a phony who would never let himself be photographed playing tennis because it wasn't manly enough. LOL.

JBPHH is one of several bases the DoD refers to as "show bases." They are frequently used for visits from foreign dignitaries, as well as visits from our own government officials, so in addition to the normal cool stuff that occurs at a lot of these places, they are always impeccably kept and they look gorgeous. JBPHH is also a national historic landmark. It mostly serves as mission readiness for PACAF so you will see a lot of very cool rigs going in and out of there. I love when I get to go TDY there.

Jealous. I haven't had a work trip there for 2 years.

There's a 2011 R6 down over here for 120 bucks for 24 hours that has my name written all over it. I'm going to see what kind of lap times I can run around the island.
