RIP Chris Kotacka, aka Arch FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS ADDED

Just got word from a mutual friend that Arch passed away yesterday. Just checked his FB and see numerous "goodbye tributes" on his wall. Trying to get in touch with said mutual friend, to get further details... but holy shit, I'm in total shock right now.

He was a good guy his pot-stirring wit will be missed.

RIP my friend... I will have a cigar in your memory.

UPDATE: I've just heard from our mutual friend Sasha (who was his daughter's dance instructor). This is confirmed. Seems this was completely sudden and out of the blue. He was in his office, had finished a conference call of some sort, and sometime thereafter something happened with his heart and we lost him.

We expect that arrangements for Arch will be finalized within the next day or two (probably Tuesday or Wednesday next week). I will update this thread as I learn more.

UPDATE 2:

Memorial Services for Chris "Arch" Kotacka will be held on Wednesday, August 10th. Viewing will be from 3:00PM through 7:00PM, with a funeral service immediately following at 7PM.

Obituary

Christopher Lee Kotacka, 42, a resident of Naperville, IL, for 13 years, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, August 3. A devoted husband, father, son, and brother, he is survived by his wife of 20 years, Laura; children Jacob, Miriam, Jason, and Emma; parents Jerry and Mary; brother and sister Michael and Melissa; stepmother Sandra; and grandmother Bernice. He was loved by all who knew him. He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed. He was born July 3rd, 1969 in Davenport, Iowa, but the family soon moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he spent his childhood. He showed a gift for computers and technology from an early age, and taught himself how to program. After attending the University of Florida, he worked as a software engineer in the telecommunications industry for over 18 years, the last 10 at XO Communications. His varied interests ran the gamut from riding motorcycles to gourmet cooking, the latter of which earned him acclaim with his oldest son’s Boy Scout Troop 8. He was always good for a laugh, and loved spending time with friends and family enjoying food and conversation. He was a special friend of the Athletes of Dance Ballet Academy and its Director, Sasha Kozadeyev. There, beyond shuttling his two daughters to class, he could be relied upon to help out in almost any way, from videotaping performances to remastering their music. Memorial visitation will start at 3:00 pm and services will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, August 10th at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL, 60540. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an education fund for his four children, sent to Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes.

That being the case. Let's ramp up the donations, if you can afford a few bucks and you enjoyed reading arches posts over the years, or spent time with the man, let's help his children out. It's the let we can do as a community. I will present a check from my personal account at the wake Wednesday evening, so please have all donations in by Wednesday at 12 noon.

He was a damn good man and one of the best fathers I know. I am really gonna miss the guy, bek if you get some details on the wake etc please make sure you text or email with it, I'm out of town till Sunday.

Rip my friend. Rip
