Cable providers? Cheapest?

What do you guys have and recommend? I have had analog cable for 2 years now (the free kind) and recently they have been cutting out channels. I lost the 50s channels a few weeks ago and as of the other day nothing higher than channel 35. So I guess I have to look into getting cable now, what do you guys recommend and who is the least expensive? I don't watch much tv at all, what I do watch is vh1,mtv,spike,fox. No movie channels or anything like that for me.

I just had a guy come by my house from "wow cable", their base high def package with DVR was $75, including internet, overall they're about to save me $40/mo compared to AT&T. no clue if they're any good yet though

Just put up an antenna for free Over-the-Air (OTA) TV, and watch the rest on the Internet.

I've got economy comcast cable and internet for like 54 a month. I use a CableCARD in my HTPC, and for whatever reason the economy package doesn't actually work on cablecard, so I get Digital Starter or something for the same price.

We might see better prices in the near future though... http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories...MPLATE=DEFAULT

any provider is going to provide a cable box now a days. Comcast, DirectTV, Dish network, wow, etc.

Generally speaking they are all going to be pretty close in price. If you want cable TV (mtv, vh1, spike, etc) you are going to have to pony up and pay somebody for it.

Most people seem to think that DirectTV has the best picture quality and Comcast provides the fastest internet (if you intend on bundling the two together)

AT&T uverse is the newest entry on the block, they provide TV service through the phone infrastructure (instead of satalitte or coax based service) Most people think the quality is fine, but the more critical of CLSB believes the quality isn't as good.

If you go with Comcast, you have to play the game, constantly calling and asking for a new price (by constantly, I mean every 3-6 months)

I can't agree more. I was surprised to see that 2 year agreement restriction too.
