I need a new subwoofer (home theater) suggest me some please.

Figures. I just blew out my sub.

Best bang per buck please. For now pick me out something that high end, monster shaking and tight when needed.

Let's throw 500.00 at this and see what you guys come up with. I was thinking sunfire but not sure. Valadyne would be great but not sure I wanna through more into this. But since I am
Rocking Kef Q45's for surrounds and there flag ship center channel I guess I could. But like I said I would like to stay under 500.00

Thanks a Ton!

I have one of these and am very happy with it. Takes a good amount of space but the performance of the sub is outstanding.

^^^ HSU is probably the most boom per buck, esp. at $500. If you want a more popular name, Klipsch has a decent sub around $500.

Bought a velodyne DEQ-R 10. Didn't like the 12 and the 15 was over board for the size room. Not to bad 550.00 at fry's

It may be too late since you already bought a replacement. However, with a sub, I'd try to fix it first (you can always use it in another room). Our sub died a while ago. We took it apart, tested the amp and the speaker and found that the speaker was dead but the amp was still fine. Ordered the speaker and it took may be 20 minutes to swap it out.

Replacement speaker cost only $100. New sub like that would cost $300-400.

I replaced my JBL with a POLK AUDIO sub. Goes good with MIRAGE sat. speakers.

if you cant fix the old one sell it on ebay as needing fixing and put the $ toward the new one. would try out the bic america one for a new one, they make some pretty good stuff and are cheap since they sell direct and cut the middle man. lots of good write ups in audio mags for speakers at 1/3 the cost of fancy name stuff.

^ sounds good then. Reading about the (empire) dual 15" made my dick hard. Gonna return the one I got and try one of these out.

Once again my old audiophile self is rearing it's ugly head.

Dude, keep in mind the bigger you go the more you will fill the entire house with sound and vibrations. Use at night will be limited.

WWCD (what would cook do)?

That Epik sub will take 3-4 weeks before I can get one.

The velOdyne goes down lower in htz and also has a higher running rms and Peak. Well known and a bit more added extra features. 100.00 bucks more though. 900.00.

Is that epic the bomb diggy? Or go with trusted velodyne?
