Anyone have or built a CNC?

I'm looking to build a cnc machine. Anyone here done this or anyone here have one at home?

What are we talking here?

Lathe, Mill, EDM, Cutter, etc.

Why are you looking to build your own? School project or financial constraints? You can buy used CNC equipment for cheap as hell.

many moons ago I converted some 2 axis Bridgeport vertical machines. Z axis was manual but the tables were CNC controlled for X and Y.

What kind of machine are you in need of?

CCS race official
sold the track bike
too slow to ride

I'm an application engineer for a Japanese machine tool builder.
I do plan on converting a lathe to NC for home use.

the company I work for builds stuff Computer controlled... Whenever I get nothing to do and feel lucky I make my own creations with parts we have in stock... I didn't build convert any mill leath yet, but upgrade saws all the time...
