Help with Toddler Vision Glasses

My grandson needs glasses at 1.5 years old. He's developing an eye dominance. Does anyone have a hookup to help us get him measured or affordable places to get lenses and frames? Their military health insurance covers the exams and such, but not the hardware.

Any input, help or suggestions are appreciated.

Frames for that age are cheap. They are all a flexy plastic. One of my kids has the same problem and even had eye surgery at 2.

The lenses get expensive because they end up being thick. He'll probably have to patch one eye to for a few hours a day.

Anyway I'm not sure what the cheapest route to go is. I could PM you our eye doctor info if that helps.

got my kid a set of glasses at Walmart vision for 80 bucks including transition lenses. no difference in quality from the $300 set he got from the opthamologist.

Look, I can appreciate this. I was young too, I felt just like you. Hated authority, hated all my bosses, thought they were full of shit. Look, it's like they say, if you're not a rebel by the age of 20, you got no heart, but if you haven't turned establishment by 30, you've got no brains. Because there are no story-book romances, no fairy-tale endings. So before you run out and change the world, ask yourself, "What do you really want?"

My friend recommended http://www.zennioptical.com/ to me recently. They are slow, I think he said 3-4weeks wait time but the price is awesome and he said they are the same quality as his others from America's Best.

Namaste

I know this guys isn't the least expensive around and that he's in the south burbs but we're extremely happy with the doctor and they have outstanding service for the frames/lenses. Certainly not walmart cheap but if you need a good doctor give him a look at least for the testing.

My now 4yo son has been seeing him since he got his first glasses at 11 months.

I used them for mine and am satisfied. As far as glasses for kids, not sure, but might be worth checking out.

My wonderful girlfriend of many years has 21 and 22 year old daughters. The youngest had a son last year. They're not my biological daughters, but I love them all none the less. Yes, I'm an old fart.
