Had someone "attack" me yesterday.

SCROLL TO BOTTOM FOR SHORT CLIFFS.

I live near a place where they hold a huge event called the farm progress show.

Needless to say traffic is thick getting out onto the little county highway off my residential country road.

A semi has traffic blocked trying to make a turn so I easily pull onto the high way.

Extended cliff notes.

- guy looks like he almost rear ends me as he flies up behind me.

-I am riding with a big gap between the next car and I so he tailgates me.

- I slow down but dont slam on the brakes.

-I try to go onto the on ramp and the guy tries to go around me on the shoulder.

-I take off slowly and he passes me on the should of the on ramp (only one lane) and cuts me off

-Traffic is busy on the interstate and he going slow so I am in the left lane he is in the right. He slows down and runs me off onto the shoulder.

-guy behind me just so happens to know me but I dont know him.

- He posts on facebook what he saw and a mutual friend calls cause he heard about it.

- Even with a license plate and everything I could see the driver but with his sunglasses on its hard to tell. Even with my eye witness who saw it all happen since we can not 100% declare who the driver was they wont even look into it or make a phone call.

Okay.. those were horrible and long cliff notes.

- I did nothing wrong
-guy passes me on the shoulder
-guys runs me off the road
-friend of a friend witnessed it all and got the plate
-cops wont even make a phone call.

Unless you actually make physical contact with another vehicle the cops will not do anything. Some kid ran me off the road and I bent a rim and lost a tire. I got the plates and told the cops what happened and they literally told me "next time, don't move. just let them hit you."

Sorry to hear of your bad experience, but sadly more are to come.

Just remember, nothing a jerkoff driver does to you on the road, is worth not arriving home at the end of the day.

Yah exactly....

And I guess my frustration really comes form the fact I had JUST got on the road he asnt anywhere near me until he sped up behind me and I didnt do anything wrong. Hell I was not even speeding because there was to much traffic.

I am simply going to call up the company and ask them who it was and talk to the guy nicely... If i get that far.

have a talk with the guys boss first and describe what happened to him. thedriver unfortunately is likely a complete dick and isnt gonna give 2 shits about that you have to say.

best solution in these situations is escape, a bike has zero chance against any car and despite how mad they get you you gotta remember that, its happened to all of us and it really sucks

i wanted to be there the whole weekend but decided against it in hopes of getting to blackhawk the following week and maybe making the ccs race 3 weeks later, sucks too cause it looks like i picked the shit day of the weekend lol

hold on this guy was in a company car ?

sure post up the car info and where this happened. dangerous people like this should be outed. hell if he did the same thing to a cop on a bike that would have been attempted vehicular manslaughter.

i want to drink, but only to kill a certain few brain cells and i don't care how many i have to take out to get to them.

If you felt the driver threatened you enough to bother posting about it on here calling it an "attack", then despite whatever apology that comes down the line, the company's name should be posted. He was acting as an agent of that company when driving that way and both he and his employer should be held accountable for that.

From the company's perspective, it needs to be reported if he's driving recklessly/dangerously, it can not only cause insurance rates to go up, but makes the company look like shit. If I were that company's owner, I would want to know if my driver were fucking up.

From the motorcycling community's perspective, when riding next to one of these marked trucks, we know to get out of the way because they clearly don't care for the wellbeing of the biker. Your not mentioning the company's name might be saving the company some hassle, but it's hassle they asked for; on the other hand, by not listing their name, you may be killing a biker who was just out for a ride... think about it.

Call the company to complain about how their employees conduct themselves in the company vehicles, mention the plate, move on with your life.

Don't give the assholes the satisfaction. You're on a bike for godsake. Split lane, ride on shoulders, do whatever you have to do to get back at the a-hole.

Wait a minute... So you were on the bike and this guy did some silly shit around you on the on ramp and then you proceeded to get back in front of him later? Yeah, g'luck staying alive out there. A cage will win 100% of the time vs. a bike.

Im done being "angry"..

No... he never got in front of me I hit the gas to stay ahead of him. I would rather know I can stay ahead of the guy then let him get clear up beside me on a interstate on ramp. Once he got beside me all the way though I let him by.

I wasnt going to try to be balls in the middle of a busy interstate on ramp with acceleration. My luck I'd hit some liquid and get ran over.

Lots of hind sight into the situation, but I honestly think I handled it as best as I could trying to stay away from him.

THE BIG PICTURE : Be careful.. some people are having bad days and dont like sport bikers.

That is the part that bothers me.. why why why why?? Why would someone do that to someone out of the blue?
