9/11 First Responders Snubbed for 10th Anniversary

9/11 First Responders Snubbed for 10th Anniversary
9/11 first responders, who risked their lives to save others, are not being invited to New York's 10th anniversary memorial service due to space restraints. Brooke spoke to retired NYPD officer James Ryder, who is extremely angry that first responders are being "betrayed." He says Mayor Bloomberg could figure out how to get elected three times, but can't figure out how to find first responders a seat?

If anyone has a right to be there, it's the first responders, and the immediate family of the victims. Fer shame to those leading the memorial and not taking the full picture into account.

Becky: [to Dante] OK, I'm only telling you this because we're friends, but sometimes, in the heat of the moment, it's forgivable to go ass-to-mouth.
Randal: [chuckling] Ha! I knew it.

Hey, before you all get your self-righteous panties in a ruffle read up on this issue.

There are 91,000 first responders that worked at Ground Zero and there is not enough room for all of them. How do you choose which ones are going and which ones can't. No matter how you pick them some of you whiners are going to b*tch.

The people going are the families of the victims and some politicians; there is a long list of politicians that want to go but won't be allowed.

Due to security (which is going to be SUPER tight, can you imagine a better target) and the size of the memorial grounds (it is pretty small, I've been there) the size of the group of people attending is going to be kept small.

This is not some "gross injustice" of the politicians. This is the memorial committee doing the best they can with what they have.

Besides, the first responders are getting their own ceremony, so they aren't being "snubbed."

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

40,000 Police in NYC
11,000 Firefighters
1,500 Port Authority
X thousands of EMTs

Not all of them were there on 9/11, 2,000 perished that day.

Would be nice to have at the very least, the 10-20k of them who were at Ground Zero the day of the attack get a seat for the event.

So none of them go? Granted, I've been purposely avoiding politics and the news lately so I'm not fully up to speed on this, but it sounds fishy to me.
