Motorcyclist was going 111 mph in Naperville

http://triblocal.com/naperville/2011...in-naperville/

An Aurora motorcyclist was charged after police said he was traveling 111 mph in a 45 mph zone, Naperville police said Wednesday.

Naperville police said an officer spotted a purple 2009 Yamaha motorcycle speeding along northbound Route 59 near 95th Street at 7:23 a.m. Sunday. The officer did a u-turn and stopped the motorcyclist after a radar detector clocked his speed at 111 mph, police said.

Bradley J. Smith, 26, of the 2900 block of Costal Drive in Aurora, was ticketed and charged with speeding more than 40 mph over the speed limit, a class A misdemeanor. His vehicle was impounded and Miller has been released on bond, Naperville Police Sgt. Greg Bell said.

“Usually if you’re 40 mph over, you’re into the proverbial big time,” Bell said.

There's a good amount of space between lights in that area of 59, and that early traffic is light. Lots of cops like to hang out there, too... he's a [email protected]

Never a bad time to climb... unless the weather is really horrible, and then you climb inside!

Yeah that area of 59 is right where I live, and the police make a habit of hanging in that area. Bad place to speed. I put my cruise control on going down 59 every day...it's so easy to speed there because of the wide open stretches of 4 lane road, like Chris said, and the cops know it.

If it was a purple bike I would guess it was a cruiser. No one is that gay to have a purple crotch rocket.

Did nobody else catch that this was Bradley Smith?

It was probably his cool down lap.

Sunday morning right there is usually kind of a mess. With that giant church just S of 75th there are cops everywhere directing traffic and what not.

Funny story....
Years ago I was driving home at like 2am. Right in that area a peice of shit Honda comes up next to me and starts trying to race me. I laughed and said wtf, why not? No other traffic or cops. So I nailed it, started pulling on him and at about 90mph I let off. So I am cruising a little bit more and I see headlights pull out behind me out of nowhere and they are haulin ass comin at me. I'm like "ya, fuck that's a cop". Other guy turns off in a neighborhood and I couldn't get over quickly enough. So then the light in front of me turns red and I didn't want to run it. I stop and sure enough it's a Naperville cop behind me. I am thinking to myself, im going to jail, my car is getting impounded, $1,000s in fines etc... Light turns green and I start to go and the dude busts a u-turn and goes the other way.
Luckiest moment ever.
