Motorcycle Trailer for Sale?

Anyone have one, or know where one can be picked up relatively cheap?

One of my employees is moving to AZ, and her closing on her home here is tomorrow. They're almost done packing and her husband went to rent a Uhaul bike trailer...but they won't allow them to go out of state without being brought back.

So, anyone know where he can purchase a relatively cheap motorcyle trailer for his Harley. Pretty much just going to be one time use.

Any help is appreciated.

Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, Farm/Fleet all sell open metal utility trailers in the $500-650 range. Resale is great if they choose not to keep it.

The HF store in Lombard usually has at least a few different models on display.

If that doesn't work & you need a U-haul guy willing to bend the rules a bit, I might be able to help. If you want me to make that call, shoot me a PM.

I appreciate this. I'll let you know. Hopefully you won't have to make that call. I told her to try HF in Lombard...and she hasn't called me back yet, so hopefully they're good.

I thought they only HAD to get the equipment back if it was store-owned? Corp -owned equipment should be able to make any 1 way trip. Might want to check on that. I had a guy slap me with a store-owned trailer when i wanted a 1-way one time and then explained this all to me when i called to find out why I had to bring it back when i told them 1-WAY.

U-haul quoted $940 for a 5x8 one way to Florida. I bought a 5x8 trailer for less than that. It's the one way part that is $$$

harbor freight isnt really and option... assuming they even have it in stock, you still have to put the whole damn thing together and put a deck on it

go to a big box home improvement place I know the loews in arlington heights has them in stock in the parking lot, get a spare tire/wheel with it if at all possible

what about shipping the bike? if uhaul is almost $1k isnt shipping it about half? thought i heard a while back that its about 4 something to ship and they skid it up for you too. just a thought since you do not need a trailer but once.

Thanks for the input folks. Guess they couldn't find a trailer that would hook-up to the big uhaul they rented...so...they decided to store the bike at a friends house and leave without it. He's going to fly back, and roadtrip the bike out to AZ.

Not a bad solution I guess.

Not at all. Besides, if it turns cold here and he wants it out in AZ before spring, you can always try U-Ship.

Had a friend ship a Softail from Tampa to Minneapolis with them for under $400.

I used uship twice (once for a bike, once for a car). Both very good experiences.
