iPhone 4S

Coming Oct 4th.

The cases are out already. Rumors of edge to edge screen. Looks ridiculously thin. http://www.engadget.com/photos/alleg...ases-hands-on/

Will likely switch from Android this year (although I say this every year)

I'm pretty sure it will have 4G. It will be a very big disappointment otherwise.

I'll be really surprised if it does have 4G support. The rumor has always been that Apple is not ready for 4G support until 2012 and the 5G was originally supposed to be delayed until next year. So either (a) they magically figured out how to pull it off in less time or (b) they are sticking to their normal business plan of adding a crap-load of sexy features and the unit will still sell like hotcakes. Then after all the fan-boys buy them up then the 5GS will come out with a 4G radio in it.

And where is 4G coverage again? I'm not sure why people make a big deal over a technology that you can only use while in 3% of the nation.

If its 4G.... great. If not.... I don't care.

Dual core processor, nice screen, assistant thingy...... I might upgrade, or wait for the next one.

Keep in mind that NOTHING has been confirmed, not even the release date that the OP says. There is a press conference about the phone and it probably won't be released for at least a month out from there.

is that on 3G? If that's 4G that that sucks. I get 4,070k now on 3G at home on my iPhone.

its only the #1 phone cause customers have no choice, you want a iOS phone, you get a iPhone, and thats it. one size fits all. no android phone will ever cause there is too many choices.

Quote:
Global sales of Android phones in the fourth quarter of 2010 was 33.3 million, compared to Symbianís 31 million. Apple is in third place with 16.2 million iOS-based smartphones shipped, followed by RIM with 14.6 million and Microsoft with 3.1 million devices shipped.

4G may only cover 3% of the of the nation by area, but I would bet that's a good 50% of the population.

also i think its funny if anyone seen the pictures, looks like the new iPhone5 is going to be the same size as the Samsung GS2. i wonder if apple will add the iphone5 to the lawsuit claiming that samsung copied the iPhone5.

iPhone Fanboyys - #1 selling phone
Android Fanboyys - #1 selling operating system

Pick your poison. Me, I drink the iPhone koolaid. Everything works great and can be improved upon by easily jailbreaking. Plus, it's build quality is better than any Android phone I've seen. <----very subjective, I know.

I don't understand the draw to 4g? I don't give a fuck if I can stream HD porn to my phone. 3G is fast enough to get emails, send texts, and check the occasional thing on a phone.

Replace 4G with DSL, or Cable internet and 3G with dialup. This happens with all new tech, some people see a need and want it, some are slower to adopt.

I watch movies at work during lunch and 3G is quick, but I still have buffering once in a while and my next phone will have 4G

I agree, but I'm sure there are much more advances in new software and apps (other than watching HD porn) we can exploit with higher 4G speeds. Can't advance technology without pushing the bar.
