Anybody use the free waze gps app?

A friend of mine told me about this free app for most smart phones. I have only used it a couple of times but it has worked quite well. It uses real time traffic info and also tells you where cops are sitting.

Anyone else use it?

Yes, I have used it for about a year now. It is ok at best for routing and you can't route over 300 miles so long trips are out of the question but reporting is fun and I have seen more and more people on the road in the last 6 months using it so the reports are more frequent and more accurate.

I do however see a problem with the "point" system, there are people trying to just score points so there are some instances of fake reports or a lot of people just using the "chit chat" and saying "hello" just to get their scores up.

I never thought about the fake reports. Although I haven't seen any fake ones. But when I see some scores I wonder how they can be legit. I can't believe it has been out that long and I just heard of it.

It's more the chit chat, or a road hazard marked where there is some roadkill that bug me.

It has been out in beta on Android for I think about a year now and I believe was on iOS before that.
