WWJD - a moral/legal quandary

I recently bought an office building that sits on a 1/2 acre lot. Other than the building, most of the lot is a cement parking lot, but also includes a 85' x 85' grass yard in the back of the building. The yard is adjacent to a small chruch. The previous owner of the office building had said that the people from the church would sometimes park on their property, and I wasn't anticipating that it would be a big deal. Now that I've seen what really goes on, it is a big deal. It's not just sunday morning, it's all weekend and two or three weeknights that they're on my property. And for the most part, they park on the grass instead of the concrete. Why would you park in the wet muddy grass, when there's concrete parking right there? We've been remodeling the building the last few weeks, so I've had a giant fucking dumpster sitting in the yard right behind my building. The brilliant churchgoers will park right next to the business end of the dumpster, blocking the dumster door, even while we're working. However, most of them are smart enough to move after I throw a 2x4 or piece of drywall right next to their car.

so, at this point, I'm not sure what to do. I obviously need to talk to the owner of the church, but I don't know what to propose. I don't want to be a dick about it, but I don't want them parking on the grass or right up against the back of my building. If they can't park on my property they're left with about 5 parking spots. There's also adverse possession laws to consider. fuckers could try to annex my shit!

what would you do?
rent them parking?
sell them the grass lot?
tell them to pray for their own parking lot?

I would go and talk to the Church about it and say hey plain and simple,. I don't mind you using my lot on Sundays but all other days its off limits. Tell them that its ur land and property and you are not leasing it so you are the one that has to pay upkeep and taxes on it. Also let them know if this continues you will have no other alternitive but to have the vehilcles towed.

My family has run in to similar issues on our rental properties and I've actually had to deal with this on a fair number of construction projects..

First, I would just go and speak with them cordially, off the record. Kindly make them aware of your concerns and see how they react. They may be very willing to make changes that make both parties happy.

If you come away with a bad feeling from the initial conversation, well then the next step is to write them a personal follow up letter referencing your conversation(s) and asking them, again kindly, to oblige your requests. That way you start a paper trail. If they still don't react positively after a few requests, you have a lawyer write them...after that you take your paper trail to the village and ask them to act on your behalf.

Tom

i used to get jehova's witnesses at my apt door sunday mornings, they would allways leave their watchtower magazine in the laundry room, so i found some literature from a ex-watchtower support group for those trying to leave the cult, and i would share this material with every JW that came by

i say boot em or charge em, and key their cars

/This and /This.

Annoyed how religions just walk over folks and they didn't bother to approach you for YOUR approval, They just went ahead and did it.

I would throw up some no parking signs, vehicles will be towed at owners expense, then allow towing company to tow and split the profits with such said company.

Nail their nontax paying ass to the cross.

however the phrase goes. I cant remember.

Since when are people using shit for free ?! If they need the lot for parking , they can sign a lease . This way you stay happy and they have a parking lot . Right now , if something happens , you are liable . When they have a lease in place , they will have to get liability insurance so that you are protected . When some asshole slips and falls , you get the pringle can .Church or not , pay like everyone else or GTFO.
