The pres of our HOA called me a retard during tonight's meeting.

Insane yes, but I'm not retarded.

During petitions from the public, I brought up several very exact things that the HOA was fucking up. Eg: one member said to cover a 4x4 kiddie pool would cost too much to have a pool company to cover, but had no dollar amount. The president said it would cost 8k to cover. I ask why don't we have it rebuilt every year, that only cost 4k?!? Also there isn't a financial committee, but we have a proposed 2012 budget. The management company that we have had for 4 months with no records (previous management company won't release them) admitted he guessed at it. The part that I was called a retard was when I ask why the VP was running the meeting. Was it because the president was unable or unwilling. He said he was sick, then went off on me. The reason I ask is because the previous president stopped running the meetings, claiming health problems. This "sickness" the previous pres had popped up the exact same time she was arrested for stealing from a homeowner while the homeowner was being evicted.

Bottom line, and Mandy will admit, this guy is a piece of shit. He is sucking the government teet, claiming disability, yet works with dogs making them "guard dogs". I could go on and on, but you get the point. What can I do to make him regret what he said? This happened during an open meeting with 25 people present, and when I ask him to repeat himself, he said it two more times. The meetings are recorded. There is evidence of his unprofessionalism. Thanks in advance.

Is he employed by the HOA or is he a homeowner who is on the board?

I have no clue how these work.

He is a homeowner. But according to the by-laws, they do not have to be a homeowner. 2 of the six members (they had someone quit, and refuse to fill the 7th spot, because that person would be me) are not homeowners.

You need to get copies of the bylaws. Only homeowners r allowed to be on the board if it's set up that way. I have at least 2 lawyers I can toss numbers to you that can get it all figured out if u need it

...plus my gf was with me saying "omg slow down, slow down" and I was thinking "Lose annoying squalk box in passenger seat, afford more mods and have less weight in the car and on the back of the bike"...so i dumped her and I'm single again as usual...HERE KITTY KITTY!!!

I know the by-laws better than our lawyer, all board members, and the management company. You do not have to be a home owner to be on the board. It was set up that way a zillion years ago so bankers, etc could join the board. Never happened, just more bullshit.

Idk if the guy can read. I think I'll post up the phone number to the management company, and if a few people could call and ask them to respond to this mud slinging perhaps it will stir the pot.

Why would you purchase in an association that allows board members that are not homeowners?

You already answered you own question. Simply document his ability while on disability. + this can be done anonymously.

Calling someone a retard is highly unprofessional and uncalled for. The best opportunity to address it was at the time it happened.

+1, my dad is on the board and he tells me stories about the egotistical assholes that are on the board and have nothing better to do than boss people around, it sounds like a AA group board meeting, a bunch of control freaks who like being in power. You should outright ask the guy in the meeting if hes ever been pringled and then ask him if he wants to be pringled by a pissed off dago fuck! for a small fee i can take care of it for you, i just got my new tennis ball cans in!

Should have called him out on it right there and expressed your feelings of being belittled and harrased. Water under the bridge. Now, request a special election to have him removed and the ill president who is not doing his job. Was the representative from the management company present at the meeting? He or she should take charge of meetings and keep a certain level of peace. Good luck, I used to be the president of a HOA, miss some stuff about it, but not most of the others.

edit: before I was president at the HOA, the guy that was, was a real asshat and he would talk down to everyone and post up belittling and rude signs on the billboard. I called him out on that during one of the meetings, and got a lot of support from the rest of the board members and owners. Thinking back at that event and him being an asshat, I kind of get why he was the way he was. That job requires dealing with alot of idiots, morons and lazy fucks that think that the board is there to pick up after them.

Greg

Next time, I would ask him publicly if he is biased against people with learning disabilities .... or ask him to define the word retard.

The best you can do is make him look like an ass in public.

FWIW, I was on the board after founding the association at our old place ..... it's hard work for no money. And as big an ass you think he is, you have neighbors that make that look like nothing.

YOu have little real leverage here, except to comel the board, or take it over.
