No, it's not the fact that's it's November 28 and that it's cold, or that it's flurrying....There's at least 2 more weeks of riding left!

Love seeing that kinda thing - Only in a Prius

Before I reviewed the video, I thought that the Prius was trying to pass the truck on the curb...upon further review, truck's fault. Thank god Prius has good brakes. I've seen videos where bikers get wiped out.

Dude - He has to swing it wide for a truck that size - Cap't Batt Car is the jackass here

Huh - Ever seen the back of a truck that says "Truck makes Wide Turns"? - So not the trucks fault, unless he failed to signal

good point, except that I would think it would have been better for the truck to be in the right lane, maybe 10-15 feet before the intersection, then make that wide turn.

Took another look & the truck had his signal on.

Did you stick around, give the drivers contact info, and tell them you have full video of the accident?

It's cold, and I just got off work and tired. What do you think?
Unless it's a very serious accident I won't be sticking around.

hmmmm, i wonder if that road even has lane division marks.....if not.....prius fault.

If there were indeed two lanes.....then truck should have stayed right, then waited for the left lane to clear to make a wide right turn.

If he stays right and then tries to make that turn he goes into the turning lane next to you - This happens all the time - it is not a lane per say as I am sure there are usually cars parked there but from 7am to 9am or some shit it becomes a lane for more traffic - There is no way the truck could pull off to the side and wait for traffic to clear as with rush hour, he would be there all day - Prius tried to be sneaky and get by, did not look at the turn signal and got hit - He will be fined in this incident, not the moving truck

My questions is do you always video tape your ride to work in the morning?

Not necessarily - depends on whose story the officer who showed up believes, since OP decided to bail rather than turn the video evidence over.

I'm pretty sure there were two lanes, with dividing lines. IF I was a truck driver, I would try to "hog" both lanes, in such a way that a car cannot possibly fit on my right side....then make that turn. I really don't know that law regarding trucks turning right, so I don't know truly who's fault it is.

send the PD the youtube link at least and let them sort it out. To have evidence and just blow it off seems wrong

What would you have done? I reckon the exact same thing. This was not a serious accident. I saw the guy in the Prius, he's totally fine (looking, j/k).

Maybe I can find a way to profit of this? Who would want a copy of this video more? Or who would want the video destroyed? How much is it worth?

Too late, it's already on the internet. 10 other sites have probably already taken it and uploaded it to their own. No profit to be made.

You're one lucky mother fucker there. If that prius was a car that actually had some balls, the driver may have been going faster and slammed right into you. I have no idea how you just rode away like it was nothing.

I call blame on the prius. Trucks signal was on, barley enough room for the prius to get by, and the prius was passing on the right. But, cops and insurance may say the truck should've checked his mirror before turning and it would've been avoided.

I'd have pulled over, told them that I had the accident on video, and that I'd send them both copies if they gave me their e-mail address/contact information. Simple as that.

Why? Because fighting insurance can be a bitch. The moving truck driver's job could also be in jeopardy, depending on how strict they are regarding their drivers and accidents. Who knows if the Prius driver is a lying sack of shit? But video doesn't lie.

The answer to OP's question is yes. You should have stopped riding a long time ago. Or going anywhere near a machine with wheels.

Prius and Lexus RX suv drivers are the worst.

The squat, brick municipal building is next to a currency exchange and a few steps from an adult video store. The bars open at 10 a.m. and close at 6:30 a.m."

Karma.

Heaven forbid you get a bit chilly, thankfully when you get home you can have a glass of warm milk and watch a riveting episode of sex in the city while wrapped up in your pink snuggie.

Exactly. Or the driver just has to debate it enough to cause question and without lack of proof would not be cited failure to yield and then the truck driver gets in trouble.
