Relocated license plates

Anyone have any problems with plates that are well under the tail ? I am thinking of using a stealth bracket on my monster , it relocates the plate way under the tail . Any thoughts ?

I had a plate mounted much like that on the SV650. It was zip tied to the battery box. I didn't have a problem with it.

It all depends on the cop and if you stop

I have one of mine mounted like that and one even lower. Never got tickets for them.

Been pulled over for it twice, talked to about it 4 times, but never ticketed.

I see the reason to clean up the rear but these kits seem like magnets for cops that like giving riders a hard time.

I was ticketed last year in South Barrington for having my plate turned sideways on an aftermarket swingarm mounted bracket. I didn't even try to fight it, I just paid the fine with a smile on my face. It's been that way for 3 years and that's the first and only time I've ever stopped for it.

CPD gave me a $80 - Illegal display of license plate in 2005, for pretty much the same mounting... Officer told me if I bring proof that is mounted in the right place to court, it will be dismissed. Duct-tape and camera/ print-outs saved me the $80 and it got dismissed...

It's your choice of course ..... but what I see is a valid ticket and an excuse for a cop to roll you any time they want to.

I got one warning, and two tickets. Mostly ran into problems when I had a passenger and it weighed down the back of my bike and my tire was obstructing it.

Yeah, depends on the area you're in and the cop

Officers discretion...You pays your money and you takes your chances.
Personally I'd rather mount my plate 100% legally and not give a cop the opportunity...but, to each his own.

"Dirt is for racing on...Asphalt is for getting there" OR "Flat trackers go in deeper and come out harder... OR (With apologies to General MaCarthur) "Old motorcycle racers never die, they just slip off the groove and fade into the dust!

I don't have mine mounted at all. Had a couple problems with it, no big deal.

I was asking about it on a motorcycle , not your house.
