What to do outside (2hrs max) LA- Santa Barbara

So I'm planning a trip to visit the inlaws in LA (Agoura Hills) with the wife. We're looking to get away from everyone for a night and do some sight seeing. Only 1 night away is what we have time for but we're up for anything fun- if you have suggestions- lay it on me!

I really like Santa Barbara , not sure if there is too much to see , but you'll get away from everyone.

Hitting up the Rock Store is a start (sounds like you are staying close).

Personallly, I dont think there is really much to "see" in LA. If you have a day (and its for couples), stay in Santa Monica on the beach, rent beach bikes, ride down to Venice Beach, then north to Pacific Palisades - enjoy the sun, beach, and ocean. There is an awesome bike path that runs the length of the beach. Later hit up the 3rd street prominade for blocks of shopping and restaurants - all within walking distance of the Santa Monica pier.

Other than that, drive up and down Sunset Blvd, through Beverly Hills, etc. Look for OJ's old house. That's all I got.
