So i dont know alot about this bike but its nick is busa killer and im asking cause i can pick one up at a good price but some people told me its a good bike and others told me they had problems and i figure since im in the chi and look for a forum about bikes and i found this website. now let me tell you about the bike, its never been down it has 9900 miles on it polished frame,
new shinko 180 rear tire, lowered power commander, has a pipe on it, polished long swing arm has bunch of other stuff the guy said like a $400 chain (thats hard to believe but i dont know bikes) bike is the red white and black color and what would be a good price for this

stock its a good bike, good price is $3,500? the bad things are the polished frame , lowered, shinko tire 180( should be a 190 and shinko sucks) , and the swingarm stretch , all bad unless thats what you really want, and it will be fast, if you dont know bikes are you ready for that?

if he bought a $400 chain, then he got screwed. Realistic value is 3200-4000. and +1 to elroy. If you dont know bikes, are you sure you need a 1000?

Was the swingarm modified permanently ? Or just an extension ? I have seen guys grind off the caliper guides to install extensions .Sounds like some squid owned it . Check it out thoroughly before you buy it . Better yet , dont buy it .

Nice.

That's a bike you buy cuz you like it, or you can get it for dirt cheap ($3kish). Limited market for those kind of mods, and it's not worth anywhere near the cost to build it. If your plan is to take the bike and sell it, you'll have a hard time without selling it for cheap.

At the prices bikes have been lately, especially this season, who knows. I've seen 1000's that are 5 years newer going for around $4k.

Like said above though, make sure the mods were done correctly. Take it to a different shop that didn't do the work to have it checked out. It might cost you ~$50 but atleast you're not getting a money pit.

Chicago Performance comes to mind, but he might be a little far from Hammond.

Does it shift ok and not smoke? If not... Buy it.

Do you like it? Buy it.

Please understand that the geometry is ruined on the machine though. That bike was designed by the Japanese engineer to lean over and turn NOT go drag racing.

If pointing and shooting is your thing. Buy it.

The bike is worth that just as long as it shifts ok. The motor is virtually indestructible but if someone destroyed the trans the whole fucking thing has to come apart anyway.

Chains, sprockets, tires, brakes don't worry me.

Not a fan of the swingarm and low stance. Return it to stock and it'll be perfect again. Does the previous owner have any of the stock parts to throw in with it? Figure $300-500 to get the rear back to stock depending on if you want to change the tire too. (maybe you can use that as a bargaining tool and get the bike for under $3k).

It's killing the Shinko.

Life has no instruction manual. Parts and labor can be impossible to find. Many go down the road with parts that are in need of service. A breakdown is eventual.
