No More Busa..... She died in my arms tonight

Went to the races with a couple of Busa's today.. Great day at the races after went home showered and went to work.. was thinking of going to take another short ride before coming home after work.. but thought naaa better get some rest.. Well on way home I noticed the two cars swerving out in front of me.. Thought must be a animal or something in road.. Looked for it.. Wrong animal.. was a car in our lane.. Emergancy manuvour to the left bang Head on into the car.. Good thing Helmets save lives... bad thing car took off.. and all the damn cages that witnessed the accedent took off too.. So there I am left picking up the busa by myself.. {still havent seen medical attention} I call 911.. County cops show up 15 min later.. am I sure I hit a car head on in my own lane they ask... I tells them.. ok.. My bike was laying here when I picked it up.. the crash was some 20 30 yards down the road.. scrap marks from my bike all in the road.. ok ok they say.. did ya get a discription of the car they ask.. pitch dark flying down the road I seen didly squat.. One guy says he will get the number and boom gone.. ok.. so now I look like a moran all messed up but the sad thing is the BUSA.. RIP my lil bike.. Good thing.. HRB... your bike is for sure faster than mine now.. Life is funny.. Now I just hope all this money I have paid to an insurance company gets me on a new bike.. and soon.. opps I better go to the hospital now.. Oh.. in case your wonderinng.. I found my light section and held it on and road the busa home.. forks bent under and all.. I will be back on a busa.. there is just no bike like the busa... For all you Squidly wanna be's... Helmets DO save Lives...

YIKES! How fast were you going?

Have you been to the hospital yet? I see you're still screwing around on the board. If not, get you azz down there asap. We'll mourn your loss and laugh with ya later about this after we know you're well enough to take it

doesn't it suck to be a member of the crash club?

Crap dude. At least I'm sure you had a chance to slow way down when you saw the cars in front of you swerving and crap, right? I'm sure it could have turned out worse if it was just you out there, and it sounds like you're ok. Sorry about the bike--I'm sure insurance will get you another one though.

DUI

go hire an ambulance chaser

I foresee not only a Busa replacement in your future, but an Aprilia, Ducati, BMW and a couple of track bikes. *$$ cha-ching $$*

glad to hear you're home from the hospitals with only happy pills. now quit screwing around here all day and get some rest!

Where exactly did it happen?

Those of you with the immediate $$$ ideas better think twice- not all drunk drivers have insurance or any assets to sieze, and even if they do it usually takes years for compensation.

Very true. Got hit by one when I was in High School. We were in and out of court for three years before I finally got paid for my medical expenses and my car. The guy had three priors, and you can imagine what kind of insurance he had. Not to mention a lawyer won't take the case unless tyou can prove the guy has $$$$. Unless of corse your paying the lawyers fees and he's not working on contingency.

unfortunate isn't it, that we've grown socially and legally beyond the point of administering a good old fashioned town beating?

Ron,

You are one tough SOB. Get hit by a drunk, bike is totalled, and you STILL ride her home one last time.

Hope you are healing fast. Hate to see a work of art like your 'busa die at the hands of such a total asshole.

Keep us informed of your progress on getting this guy.
If all else fails you can nail him with one of your ham sized fists. . Now THAT would hurt..

That's sort of funny. Makes it easy to prove he hit you.

I can see the fucking drunk basterd now "did I hit soemthing... must have been a really big bug"

I think a lot of cars in a head on collison at 45mph, would have been in a lot worse shape. It's one of those rare situations where you may have been safer on the bike. So did you get airborn and fly over the roof of the car?

When you're feeling better I want more details... I'm sick, I know.
