Video editing software for rookies?

I just got a GoPro Hero2 Professional with the Motorsports mounts and have been recording random trips just to get some video files. Suggestions on what software to use to import the files and or do some minor editing?

Depends on what type of minor editing you want to do. Windows Movie Maker does the job for very basic stuff. I like the site www.videohelp.com for info on video editing. They have lists of tools and lots of good info.

My name is JB, people call me JB

^^If only I had a Mac lol.

I'm looking to:
-Overlay music over video
-Cut sections out of video that I don't want
-Cut clips from one video and place into another.

Windows movie maker should be just what you need.

both Programs can do way more than I'm capable of putting together..
