In most plans, you can't put after-tax dollars into a 401k. Some folks do offer a combination plan that tracks your pre-tax and after-tax dollars separate, and then you are taxed differently later when you draw from them. Best tax break you have for after tax dollars is a Roth IRA, but you can only contribute $5,000 a year ($5,500 a year if you're 50 and over), and your earnings are federally tax exempt. Empahasis on "federally" ... some states make you pay tax on the dividends, Tennessee for example.

So blow it all on hookers ... they can't tax you for that.
