Last Ride

I had an unexpected Wednesday off and decided to get the Gixxer out for a ride. It's kind of funny but one of the reasons I moved to Ga was for all the great twisties and since getting down here I have hardly ridden at all. And since I hadn't been riding much the ride was a gentle, just wander around sight seeing kind of ride. I didn't know It would be my last ride on the Gixxer.

I had listed it for sale because I wasn't riding it and I wanted $ to spend on my other toy,an 07 Charger R/T but Uncle Sam said "You owe $$$$$ in income tax this year!" so when I got an offer I sold it to pay the taxes. Now, for the first time in 27 years I don't own a bike. Deb says as soon as we can afford it I can buy abother one. I guess I can make it a present to myself for my 70th birthday.

At least having a 420 horse Charger to play with takes some of the sting out of it.

Sorry to hear you are without a bike, Darrell. I went 5 summers without a bike after college, when I sold my bike to pay bills. I understand the feeling of loss, and the pull inside when you see a bike go by.

You'll get another bike if your soul needs one.
Life is a lot more about making the important things happen than I ever expected. We decide what's important and make that happen. Best of luck on a near-term replacement bike.

Thanks. I will probably get another bike one of these days but since I'm lusting after a new Kawasaki Concoures 14 it may be a while! LOL Champaign taste on a beer budget.

After it was sold and he was loading on the trailer his buddy told me he had totaled his last 2 bikes. One on the track and the other on the street. One was a 600 and the other a 250. I cautioned him to take his time and get used to all the extra power and I sure hope he payes attention.

Yes, it was a GREAT bike and I thank you for letting me care for it for my time as his keeper!
