The rusted bike was originally found by Mark in a large white container where its owner, Ikuo Yokoyama, had kept it. The container was later washed away, leaving the motorbike half-buried in the sand.

In the first article it mentioned high tide. I'm guessing this guy found it at low tide, pulled the bike out, and before he could get his truck or help to pick up the bike, high tide came back in and buried in the sand on the beach. Then he came back at low tide to pick it up.
