EZ UP Questions

pyramid or express model?

also best place to buy. I see that Sports Authority carries them online, hoping the stores do to. Any other places?

sports authority dose a discount thing if you sign up for emails. I think I got 20% off my first online purchase. They were competitive on price, and shipping was reasonable. My first one arrived broken, but call the support line, and they had another one shipped out for 2nd day delivery at no cost to me, just had to drop the broken one off at a ups store to return it (they paid return shipping too).

So it was a decent experience, and was the best price i found.

If looking at the cheap ex-up check Walmart online store too, i think they were the cheapest on some models, not sure if it was ez-up or another brand though.

Pyramids are the cheap version. If you are going to do that, go to Walmart, they are $99 or less. If you want the nicer ones, EZ-Up is the brand, and Express II is the choice.

You can go up from there to higher levels, Express II is the top residential version, there are much nicer ones as well.

I bought one recently from sears. Paid online, picked it up at store for $69.99 + tax
Its not the nice one, but it's nice enough. And I can set it up by myself.

I got a low-mid end commercial EZ-UP at Sams Club.

About $200, but it's lasted 4 seasons so far.

a decent ez up is not cheap, a cheap ez up usually will get destroyed by wind, i think a real one starts about 350$

in speaking with a customer rep, she mentioned that the ones available in retail stores are different than the ones direct from ezup. This is regarding the composition of the frame. they are stronger direct. I may forgo my search for the moment and order one direct

apparently the ones direct are an all steel frame, the ones at retail stores are a steel/aluminum combo - not as strong

I have the EZ-UP Sierra II model, same as Kot. Have had it for several years now and no complaints(steel frame btw). I picked it up from Farm and Fleet(usually have them in stock) but Sears has them for $10 cheaper.

Also a Sears near me (Dundee) shows they have one Express II left in stock. Might want to check around at some near you if you're set on that model.

I think that's the same one I have and it has worked great so far. Got it on sale last year at Farm & Fleet.

I think what the EZ up rep was talking about is their commercial line.

Cabela's has one of the commercial line I was looking at a couple weekends back. They are made to be setup every weekend for Farmers Markets and Flea Markets and shit.

I doubt the EZ up of the same model name is different when ordered through them vs picking up at a store...except for the pricing of course.
