Check out the Neato version of this. It makes more sense to my engineer logic. Engadget did a side by side once a while back.

Stan, if you wanna try mine, you are more than welcome to borrow it. It just collects dust on the shelf. Try it out and then decide if you want one.

With our floor layout, it didn't do us much good. At our other house, it would work great.

Depending on how much your dog sheds, capacity/constantly emptying it, gets annoying as hell. Not being big, they fill up fast with pet hair.

I have the neato and can speak for its awesomeness.

The roomba just seems retarded when you run it. You place it in a room and hit start and it starts doing circles like a wounded canadian goose.

Here is a video of mine.

Wait a bit for the new one to come out that comes with the new allergy brush in it. For me to upgrade to it, is 60$
It's essential for those of us with hardwood floors. Its also best to run it at night when no one is around moving crap. etc.

For light touch ups especially black dog hair, we used ours successfully for a year maybe two but it died suddenly and was throwing a battery error code. Roomba wanted 80 some bucks for a replacement so we passed.

Dont kid yourself, you still need to vaccuum this just made the days in between a bit shorter.

I use one of these for the hardwood floors between cleanings, it's very convient and far easier than using a broom
