Car Alarm's??

Does anyone in here have a 2-way car alarm, or now anyone who does? I am looking into getting a Viper 2-way remote start, alarm combo to replace my old one. The 2-way's are the one's that relay info back to the keypad or whatever you call it, the thing that you activate the alarm with. Any help would be great, my old one just took a dump on me.

Does anyone pay attention to car alarms At Grover's party, a bunch of people lifted and moved Gregg's GTi, the car alarm screaming away, not one neighbor peeked out to see what the commotion was about, not one squad car showed up. Car alarms are meant to lock your doors at a push of button, and keep honest people out of them. Maybe if I had a car worth 100K I would have Lo-jack installed, but on my little X-Type Jag, the little flashing red light and car horn going off isn't going to deter professional car thief.

Sometimes goodbye is your second chance.

i hate people with car alarms.

ya, someone might steal your car.

but how many people are going to steal your car at the grocery store.

Kill switches are good if they want to steal your car.

Car alarms wont work if they bust your window, and steal your radio in 3 seconds.

I was kind hoping to have someone post who had one, not stories about alarm's or what happened to who. The stories are mildly interesting though.

and the people who own a 85 chevy caviliar with a car alarm. Cmon, whose gonna steal that car.

Theres a lot of people who are car alarm poseurs. They want to be kewl with their car alarms, and they are usually the ones with add on fog lights that are not aligned.

Haha Wayne.... sorry I was side tracked by fierospeeders comments.

My nephew and my sister have that type of alarm system. They both really like it, it has alot of bells and whisltes. Like what the temperature is inside the car..... as if that matters ?? haha ... a waste of extra cash im my .02 But whatever floats yer boat. The remote is pretty cool though, if like that kinda stuff. It was pretty expensive, like 325 bucks ?

Car alarm posers ? haha man u crack me up. Must be a new breed. I think of an alarm as a kind of insurance, lets me know when I am being broken into, if I am close enough to do something about it. If I am not close enough. O well . it is peace of mind to me. Plus the pretty red light flashing back and forth adds to my POSER value.... Sheeesh !

You can also get an insurance break if you have one. I guess if you have a shit box car it really doesn't matter, huh.

Im not sure what the question is but I've got a two way remote start in my car. I just got it and happy so far. I like it because it has a range of1/2 mile and the remote lets me know its runnung when I start it.

This is a cash and carry world - pay as you go
sometimes you only have to pay a little, mostly it's alot, once in a while it's all you have.

Crimestopper RS-999FM I bought it on ebay for $90. I used to install alarms and stereos 6 years ago and really liked the DEI product line (clifford, viper, rattler, and all the other snake brands) but there stuff is way to fancy for what I need, all the 2 ways I saw were 300+ , and they only advertise a range of 1000 ft, which is fine for most people but I need something with longer range. So I went with a second rate brand, I'm happy with it so far but I've only had it a couple weeks so far.

Depending what kinda car you have you might be at the mercy of what retailers carry and intall. With all the new car databus, transponder and passlock technology out there it's getting more and more difficult for the Amateur to do it themselves.

This is a cash and carry world - pay as you go
